Masonry cross – the oldest monument in Lithuania (demolished during the Soviet period, rebuilt in 1990). Brick cross stands in the centre square of the City of Skuodas. It is a chapel to the memory of the First Catholic Mission – the oldest monument in Lithuania. The monument was built by A. Chodkevičius in the square-shaped field of the city in 1567. Before there was no church in Skuodas, St. Mass has been held at this monument. Nowadays, the most important festivities of city and country are celebrated here.
